[Character information]
Name: Samandriel
Canon: Supernatural
Canon Point: 8x10,before his death
Age: It's hard to put a number on it, but to give one an idea, he's been around longer than humans have. So, far older than he appears, which is something between late teens and very early twenties.
Appearance: As a celestial being, his true form cannot be perceived by humans, at least not without causing them serious damage, thus a human vessel is required for him to interact with them. Samandriel's vessel, named Alfie, is a young man, aged around his late teens to very early twenties. Rather babyfaced with brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin, he's decently tall, but also fairly thin and gangly, as boys in the age range tend to be. He's dressed in an unfortunately bright red and white striped uniform for a restaurant called "Wiener Hut," the logo emblazoned on one side of the uniform shirt, and on the other sits a nametag with his vessel's name.
Inventory: Nothing but the unfortunate uniform he's dressed in.
Abilities: Angels have a long list of abilities and powers, but considering many won't be of much use in game and most leave them rather overpowered, I'll simply stick with listing the ones that will no doubt be used and tend to be the most important. I'm perfectly okay with putting on a power-cap of some kind, as well.
Canon history can be found here. And--though his name is spelled differently on this site, "Samandriel" seems to be the preferred spelling, as opposed to "Samandiriel," and thus is the spelling I go with.
(I would be happy to attempt to expand this section if necessary, it's simply that there's not much to go on prior to what we see in canon, which is already rather brief.)
Personality: Samandriel is somewhat more reserved than many of his siblings, the other angels. That's not to say that he's quiet, shy, or one of few words, rather that he's simply quieter than most, less likely to announce his presence, to make sure everyone knows he's there. No, he tends to stay more in his place, mostly speaking up when necessary. That being said, while he's not shy, he is fairly...awkward. Or, can be, in certain situations. As an angel on angel business, he's entirely proper, speaks clearly, and is what he's expected to be. However, when it comes to conversation...he's a little less certain of how to behave, and can often appear rather awkward, somewhat flustered, and even embarrassed at times. There's stammering, albeit not a terribly large amount, a few of 'uh's and 'um's, and often a bit of shuffling and fidgeting. Though, if it can be considered any consolation, it does help him to fit in more with his current vessel, given he has the appearance of a rather awkward young man.
Despite this inherent bit of awkwardness, he is still an angel, and he knows how to behave as such, though he also differs from many of the others in some ways. For one, he's far more polite than most, and in approaching others, he tends to announce his presence with words, such as an 'excuse me,' rather than simply appearing before them and expecting them to take notice. As well, he's not demanding and is actually kinder than most of his siblings, and it shows in the way he speaks, listens, and how patient he is. He's also respectful, doesn't order anyone around - when trying to convince Kevin Tran's mother to allow the angels to help her son and keep him safe, it's a simply suggestion, not demand. And, though he's disappointed when she refuses, he makes no move to stop her, rather respects her decision and backs down. With that in mind, it's also clearer that he cares more for humankind than some of the other angels do; many of the others think less of humans, and though it's true he does see a superiority in angels, he still cares about humans, respects them, and doesn't at all think little of them. This can easily be seen, again with Miss Tran, when he expresses how amazing her sacrifice was; he respects her for it.
Still, despite the few differences in being polite and occasionally awkward, he has plenty in common with his siblings. As is typical in angels, he's still rather stiff in manner, proper and standing tall, much as one who's fairly self-important does. Though he's a bit more humble than others, he still emulates this usual angel behaviour, as well as the seeing themselves to be far above demons and other supernatural creatures - angels are all rather self-important as a species, after all. And while he's more caring and understanding than some, even appearing quite upset and perhaps even quietly devastated at the news that Castiel was stuck in purgatory at the time and never made it out, he does believe that decisions should not be made based on one's emotions, rather on what they're told to do, as is made clear in his mention of his belief that "having too much heart was always Castiel's problem." He's obedient, following his orders from Heaven, doing as he's told, and believing that this is the correct path, as all angels should. At least, that's his stance prior to being captured and tortured by Crowley.
During the torture, many of the secrets Crowley manages to reveal that are held within Samandriel's own mind are new even to him. Things he didn't know were there, programmed into him, into all of them. It's how it becomes clear to him, as he tries frantically to explain to Castiel upon being rescued, that they're being controlled. It's left him sort of rethinking his stance on Heaven, and also far more wary of it, and those in charge, which only manages to pair nicely with the fear of them that comes with being the one to spill all these secrets, unwillingly or not. Now he's uncertain of what to think of it all, knowing what he does, and it leaves him wondering if any of what he's done in the past has truly been for the best, if Heaven really is all that he used to think it was.
Backing up a bit, it should be noted that he doesn't always hold the best judgement. After all, he left Heaven seemingly without telling anyone in his rush to get to Earth and protect the Word of God. It was an admirable action, him doing his duty and what was expected of him, but ultimately it was what got him captured. Or rather, not so much what got him captured, but what lead to him being able to without anyone knowing where he was, believing him to either be dead or missing. If he'd said something, it seems entirely possible that he may have been rescued far sooner.
That being said, he's also strong-willed. Not, perhaps, as strong as some - it seems likely that some may have died before sharing anything - but not particularly weak, either. It took torture to get him to spill any of the names of prophets, though canon isn't clear on just how much it took. However, he does undergo more of it for weeks afterward, and still manages the will at one point to get out a distress call after telekinetically removing a metal instrument from his skull specifically to do so. So, while perhaps not as strong-willed as some might manage to be, he's certainly not lacking in that department.
Now, after the predicament, after being rescued, but being brought to Cape Kore before he's killed, he's likely to be a touch more wary for the first while, understandably so. What he went through was painfully traumatic, and isn't something he's simply going to forget; it will linger, and leave him perhaps a bit more fearful, anxious, and uneasy that he was in the past. However, he'll still be plenty polite and kind, still himself, just...a bit more jumpy.

- Flight/teleportation; this is how angels prefer to get around. It's an instantaneous method of transportation, through which others may be brought along, and their arrival is generally announced by the sound of flapping wings.
- Telekinesis; the ability to move objects with one's mind. Considering he managed to remove a metal instrument that had been jammed into his skull with this ability, it's possible that Samandriel is particularly talented with it.
- Healing; angels are able to heal the wounds of humans.
- Telepathy/Angel Radio; angels are capable of reading human minds, as well as communicating with them through thought. As well, they communicate with other angels through a mental connection they all have, aka "angel radio."
- Super strength; angels are incredibly strong and highly durable. It's very difficult to truly injure them, and any bodily harm to their vessels is healed over time, the speed depending on the type of injury and how bad it is. There are very few ways in which they can actually be killed or truly injured, but it's absolutely not impossible.
- Invisibility; in order to observe, angels are able to make themselves, even in their vessels, invisible to anyone around.
